Demetri Alexakos

Demetri Alexakos holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a master’s in Public Policy & Administration from Northwestern University. With over a decade of experience in economic development nonprofits on Chicago’s South and Southwest Sides, Demetri uses innovative data analysis and Geographic Information System (GIS) visualization to tell the story of communities. His work has deepened his understanding of the power of community outreach and grassroots advocacy. In his free time, Demetri enjoys exploring diverse neighborhoods, finding the perfect spot to hang his hammock between two trees, and attending comedy improv shows, embracing the “YES, AND...” mindset in both work and life.
