Mission

The Urban Male Network (UMN) is a mentoring program for minority men who live in an urban area. Through community service, personal and professional development, and mentorship programs they seek to eliminate barriers to success for minority men and provide positive male role models that have achieved personal, professional, and academic success.

Recent Developments since joining the i2i program include:

  • Annie Mae Patterson Community Court Opening:

    • UMN celebrated the Grand Opening of the Annie Mae Patterson Community Court in Englewood, revitalizing Dr. Marlon Haywood’s childhood block and providing a safe recreational space for youth.
  • Operational Expansion:

    • UMN expanded operations with dedicated staff, enhancing its capacity for organizational growth and community impact.
  • Safe Summer Programming Success:

    • UMN launched impactful Safe Summer programming, engaging young men in diverse, positive events each week, fostering personal growth and exposure to new opportunities.
